Doon #1 - Carie Corp & Lorie Langdon - Book Review

RATING: 2 stars

I was struggling to find something positive to say about this book. This is what I came up with:

Doon has a great setting, it was pulled straight out of a fairy tale.

Unfortunately, this setting can not be credited to the authors' description, as they offered the bare minimum. Corp and Langdon, used the Disney classics to serve for descriptive purposes.

Now for the plot:

PREDICTABLE

The things that don't make sense:

Veronica, the main character, does all that she can to chase this boy she's seen popping up everywhere. Even if it means travelling to a mythical and fantasy land, that no one knows exist. She does not believe for a second that this place does not exist. We do not see a single moment of doubt from her part.

When she does get there the prince she's seen everywhere accuses her of witchcraft; is extremely rude to her and wants to throw her into dungeon. Yet somehow they end up together. This book is most definitely propagating unhealthy standards for relationships, joining the lineage every fairy tale that existed.
